The Levee | Architecture & Interior Photography

Project Overview: Nestled in the heart of Neve Tzedek, Tel Aviv’s oldest neighborhood, The Levee is a masterclass in architectural evolution. Originally known as the “Gurevitch House” (built in 1913), this historic villa underwent a meticulous ten-year restoration by Bar Orian Architects. Today, it stands as a hybrid of heritage and modernity, featuring eight luxury apartments that bridge the gap between early 20th-century eclectic style and contemporary minimalism.

The Architectural Dialogue: My photography of this project focused on the striking contrast between the original UNESCO-recognized facade and the bold, metal-clad penthouse added during the renovation. The interior design, led by Yael Siso, introduces an industrial-chic aesthetic. By capturing the building’s original board-formed concrete and pairing it with sophisticated mid-century furnishings, the visual narrative highlights Tel Aviv’s unique urban “Zeitgeist.”
